We didn't know of anyone that does concrete construction, so I relied on reviews to determine which companies to get quotes from, looking for places that had a lot of reviews as well as high ratings. Patriarch was the only one that didn't have a bad review and I liked that they are a family business. We received three quotes for a concrete pour at the side of our house, which included an extension for our driveway.When Leo came over, he spent a lot of time with us and answered all of our questions. He also asked questions and we sent him our real property report so he could get a more accurate quote back to us. We weren't in a rush but he got back to us after the weekend. His quote came in the middle of the three we received, but the cost per square foot was more in line with the least expensive company, and it had the most square footage. We got the impression that he knew his stuff, had a good plan, and would do the work right. We got a start date for about a month later and Leo answered any questions we had in the meantime. Leo told us we'd have to contact Alberta One Call within two weeks of the job date, to identify where the utility lines are. This is an online process which was very simple to do, and it took about 3 days for the lines to be identified. We changed the scope of work a little bit, which Leo said wouldn't be a problem. We were replacing a bunch of grass with concrete and wanted to use some of the grass for a couple of areas in our yard. Leo and his team moved the sod to those areas with no problem and said it was good for them as well as it would be less to haul away. We're grateful they did that as it saved us having to move the sod ourselves. We were able to use the extra dirt to fill in the trench beside the concrete (that was where the wood framing was), which was perfect.Leo and his team did about 3 full days of work, which included two days of prep with framing, and several layers including rebar, gravel and dirt. They graded the slope and marked it so we could see how the concrete would end up sloping. The team (Leo, Colin, Kody, Riley) was efficient, professional, friendly and worked very hard. They communicated well with each other and were also very respectful of us in and around the work site. Leo explained what was happening if he had time and also answered questions, which was great. Our son and I were out in the backyard at one point and Colin told me that he was about to drill into the foundation, which would vibrate and be very loud, and that our son might be more comfortable further out in the yard. We ended up going inside instead, but I thanked Colin for the heads up as I really appreciated it. There was a separate company there to do the actual concrete pour.The concrete pour itself was done first thing in the morning on day 3, and clean up was done the morning of day 4. There were a few pieces of equipment left in our yard, but not a big deal. The concrete itself looks amazing! There's one small section that is dipped a little and we've noticed water pooling there, but it's really minor compared to the rest of the job.Leo made a suggestion that we might want to put our hand prints in the concrete before it fully dries, which we thought was a cool idea. We ended up finding a container which Leo filled with concrete for us, and we made hand prints separate from the big concrete pour, and we love it. I also must add that Leo was so thoughtful to bring a downspout extension on the day of the concrete pour, which he used to redirect any water that could fall through in case it were to rain before the pad completely dried. It was very much appreciated and a lovely surprise.After the work was done, this man came by and said it looks like a great job, pointing out the board in between the sidewalk and new concrete, saying it will expand and contract properly with the cold and heat.At some point, we'd like to get our garage floor and driveway fixed, and we will be contacting Patriarch for that as well. We would highly recommend using Patriarch for your concrete needs.

I contacted Patriarch Construction based on their reviews. They were the highest rated concrete business in Calgary. We had 3 small jobs in our neighborhood, including 2 patio extensions and a sidewalk staircase. Right from the beginning, Leo was very responsive. I sent him some photos and measurements of the work to be done. He phoned to clarify a couple of things that were unclear. He provided us with estimates immediately. When I asked for a time schedule, he suggested he could start the next day and work us in with his other jobs. Leo and his crew started the next day preparing the additions right on time. We actually added a sidewalk in the middle of preparation. All of the work was done to perfection. They were on time every day as promised even though I knew they had other work going on. Leo and all of his crew that came over the next 3 days of work were polite, friendly and respectful. They patiently answered questions, listened to suggestions and explained their processes as the job progressed. All 3 sites were completely cleaned up when they were done. I would hire these guys again and will most certainly recommend them to anyone I know having work done. Thanks again, Leo.

We are completely satisfied with the work Leo and his company has done for us, they completely worked around our schedule during the busy time of summer projects. We had them do a stamped patio for our hot tub below our newly built deck. Thanks again Leo to you and your Dad and the crew.

Leo and his crew were outstanding. In the space of four business days, they removed the existing 40-year old builder patio block walkway from the front steps to the city sidewalk. Then using their Ditch Witch" and good old fashioned shovel power

We were looking for someone to build us a nice patio in our backyard and we received 5 quotes on this project. We evaluated price, references and whether or not we wanted to work with the company. Patriarch was selected as they checked all the boxes. Leo and his team were courteous, punctual and produced amazing quality. We went for a wood plank stamp and a Lilith Charcoal powder release color. The pictures speak for themselves. Highly recommend Patriarch Construction for all your concrete needs.

Leo and his crew did an excellant job of removing the old cement patio and pouring a new (now level) stamped coloured patio. Leo and his crew arrived on site when he said they would and completed each step of the project as per agreed schedule.As a Tradesman myself, I appreciated the fact that his crew took the time to mentor the youngest in the crew on how to properly finish the edges of the project. To me this showed that they had pride in their work.

I have wanted to replace my old cement pad staircase for a long time. Patriarch Construction was working a couple of houses up from my place so I called them. Leo came over and we discussed what I wanted. He had great suggestions. He worked with my lists of needs and wants. Leo told me he understood what I was saying and would be able to do what i wanted. He suggested that I add a patio to the front of my property. It will now be one of the most used areas of my house. Fantastic suggestion! I can recommend Patriarch and Leo to anyone who is looking for a cement job. The team was efficient and the amazing part was they started on a Monday and I was walking on my new staircase and patio on Thursday.Thank you again Leo you have done an amazing job and transformed the front of my house.Joan
